Two Metre Tall Original Soured Ale 5.6% 750mL
Celebrating two decades of innovation, Two Metre Tall's Original Soured Ale marks a significant milestone in Australia's sour beer scene. This 2019 vintage is the last ever release, beautifully presented in a limited edition ceramic printed bottle.
Crafted by Two Metre Tall in Hayes, Tasmania, this ale is a blend of various batches, each exposed to a naturally occurring mixed culture fermentation. The dominant component is a spontaneous fermentation in oak barrels, setting the standard for soured ales in the region.
The ale offers a tart profile with complex layers of dark stone fruit, cider vinegar, and subtle spicy notes, underpinned by oak influences. It recalls the depth and character of a Flanders oud bruin.
At 5.6%, this ale is approachable yet richly flavoured, ideal for enthusiasts who enjoy the intricate nuances of a well-crafted sour.
