Honmaru is the entry point to the Juyondai range and, for many drinkers, the one that explains the fuss — an everyday-tier sake carrying aromatics normally reserved for far more expensive bottles. Brewed at Takagi Shuzo in Murayama, Yamagata, a brewery working since 1615, under the label created in 1994 that reset what modern sake could taste like.
