Saburomaru X Persona is a whisky first.
Built around malt from Wakatsuru's Saburomaru Distillery in Toyama — a distillery better known for uncompromising peated whisky than for crossovers — and released in Japan by lottery, with bottles carrying artwork of the casts of Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5. Bottled at 46%.
Aroma: Rich malt and oak, with a light curl of smoke.
Palate: Malt-driven and full, oak spice through the middle, gentle smoke behind.
Finish: Warm and spiced.
This is not a novelty bottling.
It's for drinkers and collectors in equal measure — where a serious craft distillery meets a series people grew up with.
Serve neat, or a few drops of water to lift the malt.
