Brewed by Noguchi Naohiko Kenkyujo (農口尚彦研究所) in Ishikawa Prefecture, Honjozo 21 Muroka Nama Genshu (本醸造 無濾過生原酒) is a bold, unfiltered expression from Japan’s most revered toji — Noguchi Naohiko, often called “The God of Sake.”

This vintage (Year 21 release) reflects the brewery’s ongoing exploration of sake’s depth and time. As a Muroka Nama Genshu, it is unfiltered, unpasteurised, and undiluted, offering the rawest, most powerful form of Honjozo.
The flavour is intense yet refined, with layers of ripe banana, toasted rice, caramel, and gentle spice, balanced by clean acidity and the matured roundness from careful aging.

It’s a sake of character — contemplative, expressive, and deeply emotional — showcasing the legendary craftsmanship of Noguchi Toji in his later years.
