π―Some whiskies ask for your full attention.
Black Nikka Clear just asks to be poured.
Nikka launched Black Nikka in 1965 as its flagship blend; the Clear Blend followed in 1997, a lighter reading for changing tastes. The name is literal β it was the first Japanese whisky built entirely on unpeated malt, drawing on stock from both the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. Bottled at a gentle 37%.
Aroma: Honey, light malt and soft sweetness.
Palate: Clean and easy β cereal sweetness with very little weight behind it.
Finish: Short, warm, faintly spiced.
This is not a whisky built for contemplation.
It's for drinkers who want an honest everyday pour β where Japan's highball culture actually starts.
Serve it long: ice, soda, a twist of lemon. Neat if you're curious, but the highball is the point.
The bottle Japan drinks on a weeknight.
