The 170ème Édition blends 195 wines from twelve different harvests — the youngest from 2014, the oldest reaching back to 1998 — with reserve wines from Krug's cellars making up 45% of the final blend. The result is 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay and 11% Meunier. More than twenty years of work sit behind the cork.
Aroma: Toasted brioche, dried fruit, honey and citrus zest.
Palate: Deep and layered — stone fruit, nuts and a fine, persistent bead.
Finish: Long and precise, structured rather than sweet.
This is not a Champagne built for a toast and forgotten.
