23rd Street Year of the Horse Australian Single Malt Whisky 700mL — Tawny Cask Richness, Bottled with Lift
🥃 This is the kind of limited release that looks the part and drinks with real substance. 23rd Street’s Year of the Horse is rich, rounded and warming, with sweet oak, dried fruit and soft fire-char character that gives it more depth than a standard easygoing malt.
Made by 23rd Street Distillery in South Australia, this limited-edition single malt is part of the distillery’s Lunar New Year series. It is matured in charred oak barrels and finished with the influence of 15-year-old Galway Pipe Tawny casks, which brings a fuller, sweeter style built around richness rather than raw intensity.
The profile is plush and generous in the glass. Think toffee, raisins, butterscotch and vanilla first, then deeper wood and fire notes underneath. It feels smooth, warming and celebratory — the kind of bottle that works as a gift, a special-pour whisky, or a more polished step into Australian single malt.
At 41.8% ABV, it carries enough weight to feel proper, while still staying rounded and easy to settle into.
